Conroy Moves To A Scoping Study At Clontibret, As The Nearby Clay Lake Target Starts To Show Real Promise

By Alastair Ford

“There was quite a buzz about”, says Professor Conroy, fresh of the plane from a successful PDAC. “Toronto”, he elaborates, “is very much the centre of the mining world”. Out there, he says, people make a point of commenting when you hit a 63 metre intersection of gold mineralisation, as Conroy just has on its Clay Lake property in County Armagh, Ireland. In fact, says the Professor, there was plenty of interest all round in Conroy, though when Minesite specifically asks about interest from majors he dances away from the question.

Not a denial though. And you could understand why a major might be taking an interest given that Conroy seems to be prizing open a new, highly mineralised area across a distance of about 30 miles. The recent drill results from Clay Lake, which came in at 63 metres of 0.62 grammes per tonne gold and 0.1 gramme per tonne silver from one hole, and two intersections of eight metres at 0.93 grammes per tonne and two metres at 0.77 grammes per tonne, are nice enough on their own for an early stage...
