BacTech Prepares To Spin Off Its Gold Interests, With A View To Focussing On Environmental Rehabilitation Projects
Go to BacTech’s website, and you’ll immediately notice a change. Straight away, as you hit the home page, you’re confronted by a double screen, split directly down the middle. On the left, the links that will take you to all the information you’ll ever need to know about BacTech Gold, its specialized leaching technology, and its other projects. On the right, the links that will take you to all the information you’ll ever need to know about BacTech Green, a company that also deploys the same specialized leaching technology, but exclusively applies it to mine tailings and clean up jobs. BacTech Green’s lead project at the moment is the proposed rehabilitation of an old silver tailings project not far from the rather misleadingly named town of Cobalt, in Ontario.
To say that this split, between BacTech Gold and BacTech Green, is the shape of things to come, would perhaps be to take too long a view. It is the shape of things that are almost upon us. For now, BacTech still only has one primary listing, on the TSX-Venture exchange. But within a couple of months, all the gold assets will be spun out into a new company, also to be listed on the TSX-Venture exchange.
